Volunteer Your Home: Mars Petcare 2022 Adoption Weekend

Mars Petcare’s 14th annual Adoption Weekend kicks off this Friday with eight shelters participating across six U.S. cities. Read on to see how you can give a dog or cat a loving home while helping relieve the current shelter crisis – just by “volunteering” your home.

About Adoption Weekend 2022

Mars Petcare’s BETTER CITIES FOR PETS™ program, PEDIGREE Foundation, VCA Charities and Camp Bow Wow are joining forces for the 2022 Adoption Weekend, which runs from Friday, October 21 through Sunday, October 23. Together, we’ll sponsor up to $110,000 in adoption fees to help pets find loving homes and reduce the burden on shelters.

Each adopted pet will go home with a robust starter kit including products like: PEDIGREE® dog food, IAMS™ cat food, ROYAL CANIN® cat food, DENTASTIX™ dog treats, TEMPTATIONS™ cat treats, a free first office visit coupon from Banfield Pet Hospital®, along with coupons and swag from Camp Bow Wow®, VCA Animal Hospitals, WISDOM PANEL™ DNA Test, PEDIGREE Foundation and the BETTER CITIES FOR PETS™ program. Each adopted dog will also go home with a WHISTLE™ health tracking device with a free 12-month subscription. WHISTLE™ smart devices use industry-leading AI to translate a dog’s behavior into in-depth health insights.

Why Adopt?

More than 250,000 dogs and cats are waiting in U.S. shelters right now as overcrowding and resource constraints reach crisis levels in many areas.

When you adopt, you give a pet a needed second chance at a loving home. As the shelter crisis grows, choosing to adopt right now also helps free up space at the shelter for other pets in need.

And that’s not to mention the many great ways a new pet will change your life. Here’s a list of eight great reasons to adopt a dog or cat.

Service Humans Needed

Shelters across the country urgently need support. If you’ve been considering adopting a pet, now is a great time, and we’re thrilled to help!

More than 250,000 dogs and cats are waiting in U.S. shelters right now, and another 80,000 across Canada, as overcrowding and resource constraints reach crisis levels in many areas.

But acts of service, small and large, can help. You can become a “Service Human” and help pets in your community by volunteering your time, your home or your social platforms. Find out more about the Service Humans Needed program here.
