Findlay, OH

BETTER CITIES FOR PETS™ certified cities have programs and policies that make it easier for pets and pet owners to live a happy, healthy life together.

What Makes Findlay a Pet-Friendly City?

Certified in the BETTER CITIES FOR PETS™ program in 2021, Findlay, OH scored especially well in the Homes trait of our pet-friendly cities model.

The city welcomes dogs at all of its 21 public parks. There are plenty of places to walk dogs – from public parks to historical neighborhoods. There are also several county parks, as well as an off-leash dog park.

Findlay also hosts the National Dachshund Races each fall and celebrates an annual Dog-Pawlooza hosted by the Humane Society.

Several downtown eateries also welcome dogs on their patios.

Findlay’s Mayor on Why Pets Matter

“Animals are an integral part of many of our lives. They are not just pets but members of our families. Being able to create a safer, healthier, and more pet friendly community continues to support Findlay’s efforts to be a great place to live, learn, work, and play. We are excited to be designated a BETTER CITIES FOR PETS community and find ways to continue to improve our community for all of our citizens and their furry family members.”

– Mayor Christina Muryn
