What Makes Cleveland a Pet-Friendly City?

Certified in the BETTER CITIES FOR PETS™ program in 2019, Cleveland, Ohio, scored especially well in the Shelters and Parks traits of our pet-friendly cities model.

The city recently opened the new City of Cleveland Kennel, a 15,500-square-foot facility that accommodates up to 150 animals on a regular daily basis and 200 in emergencies. It includes indoor and outdoor play areas and an on-site veterinary clinic.

Cleveland is also known for its many pet-friendly restaurants. A recent publication from Clev Dog Magazine included a list of dog-friendly restaurants that was three pages long. Dogs available for adoption through Cleveland Animal Care and Control often visit, too!
