Are Cats Allowed to Stay at Hotels?

Hilton hotels love welcoming cat travelers!

Traveling with a cat is not something most people think about. But if your cat is calm and collected in the car or in new places, you might be happy to know that Hilton’s Homewood Suites, Home2 Suites, Embassy Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton, Tru and Canopy brands are all 100% pet friendly.

What do I need to travel with my cat?

It’s important to get all necessary health paperwork from your vet. One form that’s often required is a health certificate that certifies that your pet isn’t carrying certain diseases that can infect other pets or people. See more about travel forms for pets.

No one wants to think about losing their pet, so it can give you peace of mind — and help you reunite with your pet — if your kitty is microchipped and wearing an ID tag. Make sure their tags are up to date, that your microchip registration has your current contact information, and that you have your cat’s microchip information close at hand.

What do I need to do once I arrive at the hotel with my cat?

Check in with your cat at the front desk. Once you and your kitty are inside, set up your cat’s carrier, litter box, food, and water. Maybe leave the TV on to something animal-friendly, too.) Be sure to use your best judgement and keep your cat safe — you don’t want your buddy running out the door when someone comes in to clean the room.

Want to be an extra-good guest? We recommend traveling with blankets or towels to put under litter boxes and food. If your cat is a scratcher, cover any furniture that may look like a great scratching post for your little lion.
