The Pet-Friendly City Assessment
The first step as you work to make your city pet friendly is understanding your strengths and needs. The BETTER CITIES FOR PETS™ program pet-friendly city assessment can help.
This tool will help you understand the current pet-friendliness of your community and identify opportunities for change, growth or celebration. It was designed by Nashville Civic Design Center, in partnership with Mars Petcare as part of the BETTER CITIES FOR PETS™ program.
WHO CAN USE THE PET-FRIENDLY CITY ASSESSMENT?
The assessment works for communities of all sizes, and can be used by individuals, organizations, government and others. It will take about an hour to complete a first run-through. You may need additional research or input to complete the assessment fully.
As part of completing the assessment, you’ll tally your results on the 12 Traits of Pet-Friendly Cities survey to get your current pet-friendliness score.
You can keep coming back to the survey as you gather more information. Then, take action to raise your score. The assessment is meant to be a living document, and a resource as you plan priorities for the future.
