Signage at the park is an opportunity to not only convey park rules, but also educate about responsible pet ownership. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are sample messages for dog park signage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>GENERAL PARK RULES AND SAFETY MESSAGES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Follow these rules to keep the park safe and fun for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We welcome trained, well-behaved dogs who follow directions. No aggressive dogs, dogs in heat, sick dogs or dogs younger than 6 months.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep your dog leashed while entering and exiting the park.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dogs love to run and burn off excess energy. Be sure to provide water and encourage rest breaks when needed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All dogs must wear a collar or harness inside the park, so you can catch them if needed. However, spiked, pinch and choke collars are prohibited.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All dogs must be vaccinated for rabies. Tags or other proof of current vaccination must be shown upon request.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dogs should be supervised by someone 18 years or older; maximum two dogs per handler.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep your dog healthy. Encourage them to take water and rest breaks, especially on warm days.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pay attention! It\u2019s up to you to watch your dog and what they\u2019re doing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supervise children and be sure they understand dog safety. No kids under 10 inside the park.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep food, treats and toys outside so they aren\u2019t a temptation or distraction inside the park.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discourage dogs from digging holes. Help us keep the park safe for everyone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Always clean up after your dog, and do so immediately for the sake of other dogs and their owners.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If your dog gets over-excited or aggressive, leash and remove them immediately.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Never leave your dog unattended in this park or any public space.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We hope your pup has a great visit! Avoid runaways and other issues by following these important steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wait your turn. Don\u2019t enter the double-gated portal area until other dogs and their owners are safely through it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sure the inner gate is closed before opening the outer gate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep your dog leashed until you\u2019re inside the portal and the outer gate is closed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Before opening the inner gate, check around it to make sure there aren\u2019t excited dogs nearby who might pounce on your pup or try to escape.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remove your dog\u2019s leash before opening the inner gate. Being on a leash when meeting an off-leash dog might make your pup feel vulnerable or uncomfortable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>See how other dogs in the park are reacting to your entrance. If you sense tension or too much excitement, consider waiting until the park is less busy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once inside the park, move away from the entrance area to allow other dogs to enter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Follow the same procedure when you exit and always be sure your dog is securely leashed before opening the outer gate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Want more tips?
